Newlands Community Association (NCA)
The Newlands Community Association (NCA) was established in 1996 to be a focal organisation for the Newlands area?s myriad local community bodies. As such the NCA undertook a central role in the steering groups that successfully bid for the Single Regeneration Budget (SRB) award for the Newlands that was implemented and managed by the Newlands Partnership Board (NPB) over the period 1997 ? 2004
The NPB, during its highly successful administration of the SRB, adopted an innovative long-term strategy of investment in the community intended to ensure that the SRB?s successes would be both maintained and developed further. This involved significant investment in major assets that would generate income to be made available to the Newlands? community bodies and residents for continuation of the regeneration strategy.
