The Background
A business club has been a vision of Newlands Local Enterprise Limited since the project started in 1998!
"Newlands" is a large area of North Bradford, West Yorkshire covering the estated of Bradford Moor, Fagley, Greengates, Ravenscliffe, Thorpe Edge, Thronbury and parts of Undercliffe.
The "Newlands" area incorporates a number of community organisations and community businesses we work with and we have recognised the need to bring al of them together, where they can share experiences and help each other with developing their organisations and businesses. There is also a shortage of true business skills.
To start devloping a Business Club we required links into the private business market, therefore we made contact with BITC - Business in the Community and they have assisted us and things have not stopped since.
Business in the Community refered us to the Bradford Business Broker - Anthony Waddington and working together we have created a concept of a Community Business Club that brings private business, the public sector and community businesses together, also allowing community businesses to interact with one another.
We have been able to interest with the concept and they are now on board with funding assistance for the Newlands Community Businesss Club and are also offering mentoring packages.
